Voice messages, pictures and files

Voice

The microphone button — or Alt+R — records; press again, or Enter, to send; Esc throws it away. Ten minutes is the ceiling. Voice messages in a thread play one after another.

Pictures

The camera button takes a photo (Enter or Space takes it; the preview is mirrored for the front camera; the switch button changes camera). A big photo is shrunk before sending unless the switch in Settings says not to. In a thread, a picture opens in the viewer: ← and → move between the thread's pictures, the count sits in the corner, and Copy image puts it on the clipboard.

Files

The paperclip attaches anything the operator's size limit allows; several at once go one after another, with "Sending 2 of 3" while they do. A file wears a glyph for its kind. Everything is sealed before it leaves the device: the server stores a blob it cannot open.

Stickers and emoji

The sticker button opens the picker — the packs this server offers you; type to find one, or /sticker name from the box. The emoji picker has a search box, a tone swatch, categories and your most-used at the top. See Stickers and emoji.
