Finding help

Help at the foot of the app's rail opens this documentation without leaving the app, with a search box at the top of it.

Search covers every page you are allowed to read — and only those. What you can see depends on your account: everyone gets the public pages, signing in adds the ones written for people using the server, moderators get the pages about the tools they have, and admins get the operator's handbook. A page above you does not appear in the contents, does not match a search, and opens exactly the way a page that does not exist does.

Two things worth knowing about the search. Every word you type has to appear somewhere on the page, so adding a word narrows the results rather than widening them. And it reads the tables this documentation generates from the running code, so a command name, a setting key or a permission — yeetline-backup, docs.manage — is findable even though nobody typed it into a page.

The public pages are also on the web at /docs. That version has no idea who you are, so it shows the public pages only; the Help button is the one that knows.
