The agreement between you and Yeetline for using Yeetline: an end-to-end encrypted messaging service whose operator cannot read what you send.

1. Who You Are Agreeing With

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Yeetline (“we”, “us”), which operates the Yeetline messaging service at https://yeetline.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and “you” means that organisation as well.

2. The Service

The Service is end-to-end encrypted messaging: rooms, direct messages, file transfer and calls, in a web application the phone and desktop apps host unchanged. Messages and files are encrypted on the device that sends them and decrypted only on the devices that receive them. We store and forward ciphertext and hold no key that can open it; we cannot read your messages, and we cannot recover them for you if you lose your devices and your passphrase.

We may change, add to or withdraw features of the Service. Where a change materially reduces what the Service does, we will give reasonable notice through the Service itself.

3. Accounts

Anyone may create an account. No email address is required to create an account; one you choose to add is used for account notices and, if you enable it, second-factor codes.

You choose a username and a passphrase. The passphrase never leaves your device: it is used there to derive the keys that protect your messages, and nobody operating the Service can see it or reset it. Keep it safe; losing it means losing access to the account and to everything encrypted to it.

You are responsible for the devices you sign in on and for anything done through your account. You may sign a device out from your settings; that revokes its access from then on but cannot erase what the device already holds. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 13 years old, or older where the law where you live requires it, to use the Service, and old enough to enter into this agreement or have a parent or guardian agree to it on your behalf.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to break the law, to harass, threaten or defraud anyone, to distribute malware or unsolicited bulk messages, to infringe anyone's intellectual property, or to interfere with the Service or with other people's use of it — including probing, overloading or circumventing its limits and its moderation. Because we cannot read message content, enforcement rests on what people report to us and on what the server can see: who uses the Service, how much, and from where.

Administrators and moderators may remove a room, a profile picture or an account, and may suspend an account temporarily or permanently, with or without notice, where they reasonably believe these Terms have been broken or the Service is being harmed. A suspension may extend to the network addresses the account used. Where practical we will tell you why.

5. Your Content

What you send remains yours. You grant us only the licence needed to run the Service — to store and relay the encrypted form of your messages and files to the people you send them to — and nothing more; there is no licence to read, analyse or reuse content we cannot decrypt in any case.

Messages are kept on the server until you or the room they are in deletes them, and files for 30 days; after that they are removed from the server, whatever copies the devices that received them may still hold. Deleting your account removes your account record, your keys and the encrypted files you uploaded. The Privacy Policy describes what the server holds in full.

You are responsible for what you send. We do not review content and could not; the people you send it to, and the moderators of a room you post in, can see it and act on it.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the Service running but do not promise that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free. It may be taken down for maintenance, and during a maintenance window only staff can sign in. The status page reports the state of the Service at any moment.

7. Ending the Agreement

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or end your access as described under Acceptable Use, or end the Service altogether with reasonable notice. Sections that by their nature should survive — Your Content, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability and Governing Law — survive the end of the agreement.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that its encryption cannot be defeated by a compromised device, a weak passphrase or a flaw not yet known.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, however caused. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred US dollars. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms. The current version is always the one at https://yeetline.com/terms; a material change will be announced through the Service before it takes effect, and continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Yeetline is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
